Poetry Jam

The Tea Box Poetry Jam is a regular monthly night  held on the second Friday of every month. Firmly established on the poetry circuit for nearly 8 years our Jam is filled with heaps of tasty poets providing a heady mix of verse to entertain, inspire and inform.

Have a go poetry
Whether you are a published poet with hundreds of poetry slams under your belt or have a poem hidden at the bottom of a dusty drawer that you hoped one day would see the light of day, the Tea Box Poetry Jam is for you. Hosted in an atmospheric bohemian setting, this open mic night never fails to provide an evening of diverse talents and a supportive environment. Every style of poet, from every cultural background is embraced be it rap artists, classics students or retired professionals. Find out one bloggers personal experience of their visit to a poetry jam was like on UrbanVilla.

Free entry
As this is a free event there is no need to pre-book and anyone wishing to perform need only turn up on the night and let the host on the night know of their wish to perform and a preferred timeslot. All we ask is that guests purchase food and drink at the event to ensure a seat. As it attracts poets from both inner and Greater London alike, early arrival is advised to ensure a seat.
